I can recommend Secure Data (SD) as a professional and effective company to help when data storage systems fail.My contact was Daniel Novak. He was very professional and clearly explained my options and the process for determining if data could be recovered from my Sold State Drive and roughly how the recovery is done. Communication throughout the process was excellent and my approval was sought at each step in the process. Approvals are provided through electronically signed documents.Evaluation of the drive was done at no cost and once the evaluation indicated the data could be recovered, I was given an estimate to do that work. In my case the final cost was the same as the estimate. Prices varied depending on the speed of service requested. I chose the standard service, and the drive was recovered in 3 or 4 days which was shorter than the typical 6 to 7 daysRecovered data is put on an external SSD and couriered to me. The drive is securely protected from unauthorized access and the included instruction to access the drive were very clear. For Canadians, which I am, I would note that the prices are quoted in US$. I was told that although the work is done in the company’s Toronto lab, the company is based in the United States and therefore all pricing is in US$. While I won’t say what the work cost me, because each situation is different, the quoted estimate did come as a bit of a shock, but when considering the years of work represented in the files potentially lost, it was easy to justify. I should also say that I originally took my computer to London Drugs to assess a different problem, and they discovered the SSD did not work and were unable to recover any data. So, if you’ve been told data can’t be recovered, give Secure Data Recovery a try, it doesn’t cost anything to have it evaluated.
